It combine different areas such as biology, pharmacology, tissue engineering and molecular medicine to develop new treatments for diseases that were difficult to treat before. Recently, adding pharmacology to regenerative medicine, which is called regenerative pharmacology, allow scientists to control how cells behave, how signaling pathways work and how the tissue environment develop. This help in improving the effectiveness of regenerative treatments. This review explains the main biochemical and pharmacological concepts related to regenerative medicine, including molecular mechanisms, drug-based approaches and some clinical applications. It also discusses current challenges, safety issues and future directions, and shows how pharmacology can improve the safety and effectiveness of regenerative therapies.</p>2025-12-31T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2025 https://saapjournals.org/index.php/zbpr/article/view/799ALCOHOL-INDUCED PSYCHOTIC DISORDER: A CASE STUDY2026-02-17T19:20:42+0530Pranathi Kdrnagaraju.gv@gmail.com<p>Alcohol-induced psychotic disorder (AIPD) is a severe psychiatric condition associated with chronic alcohol consumption, characterized by hallucinations, delusions, aggression, and behavioral disturbances. We report the case of a 40-year-old male with a 25-year history of escalating alcohol use who presented with tremors, weakness, aggressive behavior, sleep disturbances, self-talk, and self-laughing over a four-day period. Laboratory investigations and abdominal ultrasonography were within normal limits. The patient was diagnosed with alcohol-induced psychotic disorder with mixed psychotic symptoms and was managed with thiamine, benzodiazepines, antipsychotics, and supportive care. Clinical pharmacist interventions and patient counseling played an integral role in optimizing therapy and promoting recovery. From a medicinal chemistry perspective, drug repurposing leverages known chemical scaffolds, established safety profiles, and well-characterized pharmacokinetic properties to reduce development time, cost, and risk. Recent advances in computational chemistry, high-throughput screening, and systems biology have significantly expanded the scope of repurposing approaches. This review discusses contemporary strategies in drug repurposing with emphasis on medicinal chemistry principles, including structure–activity relationships, target promiscuity, and chemical optimization. Since its first identification during an outbreak in Malaysia in 1998–1999, NiV has caused repeated outbreaks in South and Southeast Asia, particularly in Bangladesh and India. The virus is transmitted from natural reservoir hosts, fruit bats (<em>Pteropus</em> species), to humans either directly or through intermediate animal hosts, contaminated food sources, or human-to-human transmission. Clinically, NiV infection ranges from mild febrile illness to severe respiratory disease and fatal encephalitis, with case fatality rates ranging from 40% to 75%. The absence of specific antiviral therapy or licensed vaccines underscores the importance of early diagnosis, supportive management, and preventive public health strategies. This review summarizes the virology, epidemiology, transmission, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, and prevention of Nipah virus infection.</p>2025-12-20T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2025 https://saapjournals.org/index.php/zbpr/article/view/803A CASE STUDY OF DECOMPENSATED CHRONIC LIVER DISEASE WITH PORTAL HYPERTENSION IN A MIDDLE-AGED MALE2026-02-17T19:23:37+0530Bhargava Narendra Jjbn520@gmail.com<p>Decompensated chronic liver disease (DCLD) represents the advanced stage of cirrhosis characterized by the development of complications such as ascites, jaundice, portal hypertension, variceal bleeding, and hepatic encephalopathy. Alcohol remains one of the leading causes of chronic liver disease worldwide. We report a case of a 41-year-old male with a long history of alcohol consumption who presented with abdominal distension, jaundice, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Clinical evaluation, laboratory investigations, and ultrasonographic findings confirmed the diagnosis of decompensated chronic liver disease with portal hypertension. The patient was managed with diuretics, non-selective beta-blockers, lactulose, rifaximin, proton pump inhibitors, and supportive therapy, resulting in clinical stabilization. This case highlights the importance of early recognition, comprehensive evaluation, and multidisciplinary management of DCLD to prevent life-threatening complications.</p>2025-12-30T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2025
